Today, the fifteenth of January, one thousand seven hundred thirty has appeared before tbe undersigned clerk, at the office of this Court, Louls Normand LaBriere, bearer of, his contract of marrlage
with Catherlne Clement, passed by Barrois, Notary in the Illinois, the fourth of, thls month, to the effect that ln consideration of this marriage, Jean Poture calledl St. Jean, stepfather the future wife, gives one heifer at her choice to take at her will, which shall hold for her the nature of inheritance; as also Augustin St. Yyves, brother-in-law of the said future wife and Agnes Clement, his wife, by him authorized for the purpose of the presents, sister of the said future wife, give to her purely (illegible) inter vivos and irrevocably, the best for that (illegible) can take place: now accepting by the said future wife, for this purpose authorized by the said future husband, to do there what she may, one plot of land and building lot, situated in this city of Cas, bordering on one side of the said donors, on the other on LaBarriere, at one end on the street, at the other end of the gence of the commons and thus as it runs, consistes and extends in all parts, in order to enjoy it immediately after the nuptial blessing at their will, who shall enter into community without demising and dissisting for their profit, their heirs and assigns in the future; and for the love and affection which the future spouses bear the one to the other, they have made each other a mutual and recipricol gift, to the survivor of them, now accepted by the survivor, in the best form that a donation can be validated, and to hold (illegible) inscription of the whole, having seen the contract of marriage and donation here tofore mentioned, inscribed therein after reading mad of the whole at the said office, have transcribed the whole and registered it on the Register of Transcriptions of this Court following the ordinance by this Act; done at Cas the day and year aforesaid; one word erased in the page hereinbefore and two in the present.

Today, the fifteenth day of January, one thousand seven hundred thirty-seven, has appeared before the undersigned Clerk, at the office of this Court, Francois Ahrie, bearer of his contract of marriage with Domitilde Baillarjon passed before Bertler Barrois, Notary in the Illinois, this day, to the effect that in consideration of the love and affection which the future spouses bear the one to the other they make each other mutual and recipricol gift, to the survivor of them now accepted by the survivor, in the best form that a donation can be made valid and take place, of all and each of their goods, movables, immovables, present and to come, as much inheritance or acquisitions after marriage of whatever nature they may be, to be enjoyed by the survivor, in full property, in perpetuity, as to acquisitions, moveable and immovable only! and as for the inheritances, to be enjoyed by the survivor during his life only, by title of bailee; all supposing there be no children on the day all such goods, personal and real, present and future, as much properties acquired before marriage as those acquired while in community of whatever nature they may be, and in whatsoever place they may be situated, to be enjoyed by the survivor in full property in perpetuity, as for the acquisitions to be enjoyed by the survivor during his life only, by title of bailee. The whole supposing that there be no children on the day of the decease of the first one dying, begoon of the late marriage thus as it is more at length enunciated in the contract of marriage, thus requesting....end.

Still it is very interesting, particularly to the decendents of Louis and Catherine. I am trying to obtain a copy of there marriage contract..
